Now, Kareena shared a video of Hollywood star Denzel Washington and took a jibe at the Indian media in her post. The Takht actress shared a 2016 video of Washington where he called out news outlets for fake news.
On Instagram, Kareena shared the video, with the caption, “Beautifully put... Legend.” The actress reposted a video featuring Hollywood actor Denzel Washington shared by SOTY 2 director Punit Malhotra. Bebo shared the video of Washington, where the actor called out news outlets for fake news and mentioned that he said it quite beautifully. Kareena then went on to call him a legend and shared a red heart emoji with the caption.
Talking about the video that the Laal Singh Chaddha actress shared, it dates back to 2016 when Denzel Washington reacted to the fake news story about him that was reported by the media. During the special screening of his film Fences, on the red carpet, at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American Museum of History and Culture in Washington, Denzel reacted to a reporter asking him about the fake news. In the video, as reported by The Hill, Washington said, “If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you do read it, you're misinformed.”
In the video, Denzel spoke about how we live in an era of too much information and mentioned how one of the consequences is that the pressure on the media these days is to be first than to be true. He said, “In our society, now it's just first — who cares, get it out there. We don't care who it hurts. We don't care who we destroy. We don't care if it's true. Just say it, sell it. Anything you practice you'll get good at — including BS."
